You may have noticed this website does not (yet) have an ‘About’ section that shares the story behind the lifework project. Several drafts have been written, but at the time of this entry, it had not yet felt right. There is a clear vision to the project though, which is captured in two particular verses from the Bible.
The first is 2 Timothy 2:2, which states: “… and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others.” The site serves as a platform for one generation to share timeless biblical wisdom that has been acquired through a person’s life work, as a source of wisdom and encouragement to others.
The second verse comes from James 4:14: “yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” The site is not about any one person. Indeed, there are personal stories and principles derived from individuals’ success, failure, and experience. However, it is all grounded in the reality that our lives are brief moments and that our goal must be to make the most of the time we’ve been given.
Which leads to the matter of the Agenda. The site is not to be construed as an entry into the foray of self-help or life coaching, nor does it seek to build profiles of experts or gurus. Rather, it showcases the lives of people that have sought to place Christ at the centre of their pursuits and to document the profound impact. It outlines success factors that are drawn from the Bible and influence all facets of life, although there is particular emphasis on the workplace.
The lifework project is ultimately an experiment in the collective conversation that we hope brings clarity, inspiration and encouragement to anyone that finds us.
